Description
Summary:Nearly 30 % of students from Franche-Comté who are registered at a university study outside the region. Most of them attend universities situated in one of the neighbouring areas. These students who emigrate are different from those who stay at home, both by social origin and by choice of academic discipline for their university studies. The way the various disciplines are distributed between the French universities is an important part of the explanation for student mobility, but other factors such as geographic proximity, and the attractions of large university towns, also contribute to the migratory choices of young people from Franche-Comté.
