Rapid acanthocytic schistocytosis and fulminant microangiopathic hemolysis as a preterminal event
Abstract Isolated schistocytosis is a hematological emergency. Clinically significant schistocytosis requires 1% red cell fragments in a high power field. These include triangular fragments, crescents, helmet cells, keratocytes, or microspherocytes.
