It shows how the field of social representation originates in the daily life experiences of students (both in the university and beyond) where they become aware of Human Rights violation experiences. They begin to question the meaning, significance, usefulness and purpose of rights in the contexts of societies like Colombia and particularly, in a Faculty dedicated to the teacher training. Likewise, the lack of a political will to make Human Rights Education (HRE) more visible and tangible in the curricula for future teachers is questioned, as well as the educational projects in Faculties of Education. Finally, the paper suggests some key ideas to enhance future teachers’ training from a HRE perspective.http://revistas.pedagogica.edu.co/index.php/RF/article/view/2948Formación docenteDerechos Dumanoseducación en Derechos Humanossujeto de derechos
