Methods: The subject of this study consisted of 44 women with age range of 20-40 years old who were suffering from PCOS and referred to a fertility clinic of Beheshti Hospital, Isfahan, Iran. The control group were 44 healthy women who were 20 to 40 years old and they were selected randomly. Their height and weight measured by meter and scales that were attached to the wall and body mass index was calculated. They completed a questionnaire as well as any of the blood samples were taken for testing vitamin D. the analysis of independent t test and Mann-Whitney tests was used to compare the means and the Pearson correlation test has been applied to determine the correlation between two variables. Findings: In the studied group, there was no significant difference between age and height. Features such as age (P = 0.29), height (P = 0.71) Job (P = 0.29) level of education (P = 0.49) in the two groups were not significantly different, but, vitamin D levels in patients with PCOS were significantly different than the control group (P = 0.006). Conclusion: The mean levels of vitamin D in patients with PCOS were lower than the control group, while the short fall was more in patients with higher body mass index (BMI).http://jims.mui.ac.ir/index.php/jims/article/view/557825-Hydroxy vitamin DFemale infertilityPolycystic ovarian syndrome
