In the 21st century, ethnic Hispanics are becoming one of the largest population groups in the United States, and Spanish is the second most widely used language after English in this country, which makes the issue raised in the monograph under review very relevant. The authors of the collection focused their research on the features of segregation of Latin Americans in the states of the Sunbelt, thereby clearly limiting the regional scope of their research. By their publications, they prove that the southern states of the United States have turned into carceral states for Latin Americans.http://en.hpchsu.ru/archived-issues/the-journal-of-regional-history-v-4-no-4/justice-power-and-policy-towards-the-ethnics-in-the-sunbelt-region-of-the-usa-review-of-the-collecti/hispanicssunbeltcarceral statescaging bordersundocumented migrants
