The independent variables of the research were: the position in the organization (manager or subordinate) and the managers` gender (male or female). The dependent variables were multiple and focused on the characteristics of managers in Romania. In order to develop tools for the assessment of Romanian managers` characteristics, 25 managers and 25 employers (from various professional categories) listed 10 qualities that they consider important for a manager.
