Initial pleural drainage was ineffective. Video-assisted thoracoscopy revealed areas of consolidation within the lung parenchyma. A wedge resection with partial pleurectomy was performed. Histopathological examination showed subpleural decidual implants. The patient made a full recovery and was discharged on day 5.
