Description
Summary:Beekeeping in Mali : experiences of integrated development in villages communities. With the perspective of improving considerably traditional beekeeping in Mali, the Forestry commission of this country has begun, with the help of various international organisations, some experiments on integrated development in four villages communities. In two years, these experiments have enabled us to obtain greateryields in honey and in wax thanks to : using new simple and cheap techniques (Kenyan or Senegalese improved behives...) ; giving training and technical help to the interested farmers ; the farmers creating cooperatives and Beekeepers associations ; replanting with forestal plants which are useful to the bees ; developing village orchards.
