Summary: | Studying the development of regional festival tourism can not only help to obtain a correct understanding of the regional spatial and temporal change characteristics but also exert a profound significance on the integration and optimization of regional tourism resources.Taking festival activities held in Shanghai during 1981~2010 as the study samples, the paper uses the Baidu news search, seasonal intensity index and Arcgis tool to analyze inter-annual variation characteristics,intra-annual variation characteristics and spatial distribution characteristics of Shanghai festival tourism. The results show that the number of Shanghai tourism festivals during the past 30 years increases rapidly. As for the inter-annual variation, the Shanghai festival tourism development can be roughly divided into three stages. As to the intra-annual variation,Shanghai festival tourism is mainly centered in September and October. The seasonal intensity index of Shanghai festival activities remains highly but it is decreasing recently. In the aspect of the spatial distribution, festival tourism in Shanghai is evenly distributed.Festival activities held in the central urban area and Chongming County are relatively concentrative compared to the other areas in Shanghai. |
