Summary:The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of cooperative versus traditional education on learning computer concepts and programming; an experimental design was used. Students were divided into two groups: an experimental group using cooperative learning and a controlled group using traditional learning. The pre-testing of the students showed no difference between groups in their information towards computer concepts and programming. The study resulted in the following: 1. The post-test showed no difference between groups in learning computer concepts. 2. The written post-test in programming showed a significant difference in achievement between the two groups in learning programming. 3. The practical test in programming also showed a significant difference in achievement between the two groups.
