One of the main objectives of this is fi ghting organized crime. Based on European legislative developments, an effi cient cooperation between the diff erent countries in this regard is the creation of joint investigation teams to investigate individual cases. To fi ll the Moldovan legislation with legal provisions about this way of cooperation, on 13.03.2012 Moldova signed the Second Additional Protocol to the European Convention on Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters, which provides in Article 20 JIT’s activity. By Law No. 66 of the Republic of Moldova of 05.04.2012, entered into force on 27.10.2012 Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Moldova was amended with art.5402 - joint investigation teams.
