Description
Summary:Cattleya labiata is an specie that has been described as ¨Hard Germinate¨ in vitro culture, this investigation was realized to value some factors that can influence on seed germination asymbiotic in vitro in this specie. The following factors were studied: maturity age of capsule, condition of aggregation of culture medium and dose of charcoal active in the semisolid culture medium. The results obtained showed that it was possible the germination asymbiotic in vitro culture of seed Cattleya labiata, but was necessary to use capsule with 180 days age in liquid culture medium and hatched at 100 rpm or semisolid culture medium with charcoal active. Though the percentages of germination were poor, they were sufficient for begining efficiently the micropropagation process of Cattleya labiata. Key words: charcoal active, liquid culture medium, micropropagation, orchids
