Description
Summary:The major objective of this paper are integrative studies that include the analysis of phytocoenoses of sunflower belonging to different geographical areas, focusing on crop rotation, hybrids of Helianthus annuus L. and the degree of infection with Orobanche cumana Wallr. in natural conditions of the field. The method used in the study was presented by the field observation and sociological survey in settlements across the center, south and north of Moldova, during July-August, 2014. The study conclude that infection with broomrape is preferentialy widespread in central and southern regions of Moldova, encountered forms in this regions are highlighting with the increased aggression. A distinct reaction of sunflower hybrids grown in different locations, to natural infection with Orobanche has been established. It has been found that cultivation of sunflower in well organized rotation (using as a preceding maize and wheat, with a return to the same field at least after 4 years) diminishes the number of infested by broomrape plants (3-15%).
