Summary:This article aims to reflect about the construction of the media agenda in the 2010 presidential election, wich the actors that dominated access to the means of mass communication, responsible for the production of sense and collective experiences in the contemporary world. The main objective of this paper is to observe how the mechanisms of formation process of journalistic agenda, taking as a case study the emphasize about the abortion in the news coverage of the presidential elections held by the O Globo newspaper, Folha de SP and O Estado de SP. Through this analysis, we intend to demonstrate that the formation of the media agenda is the result of disputes, tensions and adjustments between various actors of symbolic fields, including the political field and the media itself. From this study, the paper seeks to contribute to consideration of the the factors involved in the formation of the agenda of the media and its effects on the spread and naturalization of socially dominant positions.
