Description
Summary:This memorialistic study refers to a presentation of specific biographical aspects of the life of Victor Ceaikovski, university professor at the „Ciprian Porumbescu” Conservatory in Bucharest at the faculty of Composition and Musicology, specializing in musical Theory–Solfeggio–Dictation. This study is based on three elements that competed in this achievement. First of all, the author of the study, Professor Gabriela Bogos, was a student of Professor Victor Ceaikovski and had the opportunity to know him closely, not only as a teacher, but also as a mentor who had a defining influence on the specialty that she subsequently addressed, Music Theory. Secondly, the main biographical information presented in the article was drafted on the basis of written or oral testimonies elaborated by her teacher's daughter, Ms. Cristina Ceaikovski who, with much kindness and warmth, made them available to be published. Lastly, we realized that the methods of teaching the Theory of Music proposed by Professor Victor Ceaikovski are special and practical, which is why, since 2009, we started organizing a national contest of Music Theory named after „Victor Ceaikovski”, sponsored by the Ministry of National Education, the School Inspectorate of the Municipality of Bucharest, competition at its 11th edition in 2019.
