Borrowing the idea thompsoniana dramatization of the exercise of power, the approach presented here seeks to demonstrate how the acts of foundations of new villages demonstrating not only the absolute royal power, but also all the principles, values and institutions that sought to legitimize and ensure dominium playback on a Portuguese territory inserted under the Old Colonial System.
