Summary: | La Doncella Teodor is a Castilian text probably composed in the middle of the 13th century, inspired by an Arabic source, as well as other gnomic treatises from the Alphonsine period. Opposed to various wise men of the court, in charge of measuring the extent of her knowledge, the doncella Teodor convince them, in turn, by the sentences she asserts without any justification, but which her opponents recognize as truths. However, in the printed versions of the early 16th century, the last of his opponents accuses her of using false arguments to defeat the first sages. How can we describe as arguments what seem to be only preconceived ideas shared between questioners and questioned? What are Teodor's strategies, both gestural and discursive, to convince hers judges?
