Specific features of international provisions on prohibition of trafficking in persons

Although the United Nations Protocol to Prevent, Suppress and Punish Trafficking in Persons Especially Women and Children Supplementing United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime, first gave a full definition of trafficking in persons, this phenomenon is not completely explored and defined. Beside elements of this social concept which are included in the afore-said definition of that international legal document, it is necessary to underline specific features of that crime. The trafficking in persons represents both the form of organized crime and international crime. This crime infringes many international legal documents. The aim of this paper is to point to the legal nature of international legal provision that prohibits trafficking in persons.
