This paper discusses the state of the art in regulatory support of functional underwater offshore production systems. The purpose of the study is to determine the optimal level of structuring and maximum possible scope of standardization for underwater production system elements, in compliance with various kinds of current regulatory documents. Materials and methods. Official data on international, inter-state and national standardization, as well as publications about the standardization of underwater production systems. Methodology of international and national standardization systems. Main results. This study offers an integrated assessment for the state of the art in international and national standards for underwater production systems, which makes it possible to understand currently required depth of structuring the objects of these standards, as well as to outline promising fields of further work in development of regulatory documents for underwater production system. Conclusion. Current level of international and national regulatory support for underwater production systems shows that these systems have now become a completely autonomous functional complex with prospects of further evolution.
