The number of participants of various meetings and the participation of foreign guests translate also into relatively high revenues for local entities, generating local taxes and jobs at the same time. Seconded by their employers, the participants of this form of tourism are characterized by high requirements as to the standard of different types of services. One of the elements of servicing this tourism segment is the use of new technologies to improve the quality and satisfaction of participants from taking part in the event (apart from the content-related issues dominating in motivation to participate in this type of tourism). The purpose of the article is to present the outcome of research on selected technological solutions used in business travel, especially in the organization of meetings (including congresses and conferences) and events (incentive trips, trade fairs) from the point of view of changes of popularity in recent years.
