Description
Summary:Objective: To observe the protective effect of total flavonoids from Mimosa pudica on carbon tetrachloride (CCl4)-induced acute liver injury in mice. Methods: CCl4-induced acute liver injury model in mice was established. The activity of ALT and AST, the content of serum albumin (Alb) and total antioxidant capacity (T-AOC) were determined. The content of malondiadehyde (MDA) was measured and the activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD) was determined. The histopathological changes of liver were observed. Results: Compared with CCl4 modle group, each dose group of total flavonouida from Mimosa pudica couldreduced the activity of ALT and AST in mice obviously (P<0.01), indicating they had remarkably protective effect on CCl4-induced acute liver injury in mice. high and middle dose groups of total flavonouida from Mimosa pudica couldincrease the content of Alb in mice (P<0.01). Each dose group of total flavonouida from Mimosa pudica could enhance the level of T-AOC (P<0.01). each dose group of total flavonouida from Mimosa pudica could lower the content of liver homogenate MDA but enhance the activity of SOD in a dose-depended manner (P<0.01). Conclusion: Total flavones from Mimosa Pudica have obvious protective effect on CCl4-induced acute liver injury in mice.
