Description
Summary:Sexual equality has not yet been achieved in our Western societies, neither by means of the acknowledgement of women’s rights nor by means of the development of so called “anti-discriminatory” laws. Moreover, the poverty threshold for women and children, as well as domestic violence against them, seem to be gradually increasing. However, and despite its limitations, the ethical idea of a universal justice –or “global”, according to the contemporary terminology– still has a role to play as a “regulative idea” not only in the philosophical discourses, but also in social, legal and political contexts. This is a challenge on which feminism puts at stake its best theoretical knowledge as well as its practical survival.
