Summary: | Although directed towards immediacy, simplicity and clarity, the
political discourse hides generic concepts and clichés. It often appears
unclear, vague, ambiguous, and self-referential. In this type of discourse
pragmalinguistic research identifies relevant information related to all the
implicit elements of the context and co-text. In this research, we analyzed
and discussed three speeches given by Croatian politicians. All the
similarities and differences between them were found through the analysis
of deixis, presuppositions, conversational implications and speech acts. |
