Description
Summary:The desire of the poet Gabriele d’Annunzio to renew his
birthplace in Pescara with a ‘makeover’ operation, was
made in 1921 by his brother-in-law, the engineer Antonino
Liberi, designer of numerous works. Towards the old house, that needed extraordinary and rather urgent maintenance work, the engineer proposed a series of internal changes necessary to improve the livability
of the environments, but also two facade solutions
that would have radically changed the appearance.
This paper intends to address, rather than the planned
works on the house, the way to communicate the restoration
project engineer Liberi, considering the graphics, the representation scales, the design method. Supporting
documents are deposited in the Archives of the Italian
Vittoriale and the State Archive of Pescara.
