Description
Summary:«Le Malde mer» by Marie Darrieussecq: challenge of the clichés and Mothercomplex. The aim of the article is to interpret the non-typical modes through which Marie Darrieussecq describes a case of alienation caused by the Mother complex, in the novel “Le Mal de mer”.The feeling of the maternity is questioned in a daring way, by a problematical women-trio, on three generations. References as Gaston Bachelard or Julia Kristeva are used in order to explain an archetypal imagery or a theory from psychoanalysis. The writer proceeds to a personalization of the Sea (actually, the maincharacter of the novel), and also to a scientific approach in several descriptions. Instead of a traditional plot, the novel offers a new vision on the Universe, on the Earth and on the oceans. The idea of belonging to a certain space is also questioned and the issue is to present a deterritorialization which becomes more and more frequent nowadays
