The objective of the presented work was todetermine the level and time evolution of thepressure developed by ash wood samples, whenswelling from oven-dry state until the fiber saturationpoint was exceeded and maximum swelling wasreached. The results show maximum values of theswelling pressure between 3.10 MPa and 4.52 MPa,as well as clear differences between the values ofthe swelling pressures in radial and tangentialdirection, respectively.
