The adoption situation of Colombian children has been characterized from statistical data, political and legal regulation (ICBF, 2003; 2006; 2009; Presidencia de la República, 1960; 1984). Theoretical contributions to the study of resilience as a psychological process are discussed from the perspective of European, American and Latin American authors (Cyrulnik, 1999; 2001; 2002; 2003; Ungar, 2008; Bowlby, 1992; Villalobos, 2003; Crawford & Wrigt, 2005; Colmenares, 2002; 2006; Soarez de Souza & de Oliveira, 2006; entre otros).
