ELIMINATION DU CUIVRE EN SOLUTION PAR ADSORPTION SUR ARGILE DE LA VILLE DE MAGHNIA DE L’OUEST ALGERIEN

In this study, removal of copper Cu (II) from aqueous solutions is investigated using Maghnia bentonite, natural clay. During à removal process, batch technique is used, and the effects of pH, clay amount, heavy metal concentration, agitation time and the mode of agitation on adsorption efficiency a...

During à removal process, batch technique is used, and the effects of pH, clay amount, heavy metal concentration, agitation time and the mode of agitation on adsorption efficiency are studied. Langmuir, Freundlich and Dubinin-Radushkevich (D-R) isotherms are applied in order to determine the efficiency of natural clay used as an adsorbent. Results show that all isotherms are linear. It is determined that adsorption of Cu (II) is well-fitted by the second order reaction kinetic. It is concluded that natural clay can be used as an effective adsorbent for removing Cu (II) from aqueous solutions.http://revues.imist.ma/index.php?journal=jwes&page=article&op=view&path%5B%5D=7030&path%5B%5D=6242natural clayCopperIsotherm FreundlichLangmuir isothermDubinin-Radushkevich isotherm (D-R)kinetic model
