Description
Summary:This essay intends to define a series of phenomena resulting from contact between two or more languages. Initially we tried to distinguish the interference of linguistic convergence, delimiting the scope of the term loanword. Next, we focus on the process of creolization, presenting the main theories about the origin of pidgins and creoles. In the end, we emphasize that the language contact, being a constant in the dynamics of language, should not be feared, but rather should be seen as something that promotes the enrichment of minority languages.
