Plasmonic monolithic lithium niobate directional coupler switches
Lithium niobate is essential for electro-optic modulation, however, combining it with the attractive features of plasmonics is largely unexplored. Here, the authors demonstrate ultra-compact electrooptic switching with low voltage-length product, fast nonlinear response and low capacitance.
