Summary:This paper approaches the definition of racial identity, which includes the different relationships that occur between individuals in the course of his life. These relations express the ability of subjects to recognize themselves within a whole, as subjects whose identity construction is influenced by epochal socio cultural contexts and patterns with a positive or negative social  significance around raciality.  The aim of the paper is to analyze aspects of  the construction process of racial identity in Cuba. The methods used:   synthetic analytical, deductive and inductive, analysis of documents. As a result significant aspects that weigh Cuban intersubjectivity such as the complexity of racial identity construction, mediating relationships and the objective and subjective conditions associated elements are required.<br />Keywords: race, raciality, identity, color of skin, racial identity.
