Summary:Health care is very difficult, but essential element of each state. The level of medical care and the opportunity to meet all the health needs of citizens are determined by many factors, but the most important of these are the funds collected for this purpose. There-fore, it is important to choose the appropriate model and adapt the health system to their individual needs. The purpose of this article is a comparative analysis of health care fi-nancing system in Poland with selected countries. Formulated the hypothesis that a small share of private sources of financing health care system affects the availability and quality of medical services, and that monopoly National Health Fund as a trustee of public funds for health care causes high costs of health services.
