The LEAP (Long-Rang Energy Alternatives Planning) simulation tool was used to simulate future projections of the evolution of energy system through insertion of demand data, transformation and resources. Three scenarios were established to project the energy matrix and to analyze the behavior of parameters such as the final energy demand of sectors as the domestic, commerce/industry/services, hoteliers, public institutions, desalination, thermoelectric power plant and total electric losses. It is observed that the current trend of the island’s is an increase in the total demand for energy and should reach an efficient scenario of approximately 670 GWh in 2040, which is more than three times that of 2017.
