Inserted in the academic environment, it has as main characteristic the interdisciplinarity that adds up to the other disciplines an investigation to better understand and to research the linguistic problems to which we are exposed. Thus, according to the social context, the historical, political, economic, cultural and identity process the AL can also assume a transdisciplinary character. Therefore we will address in this work the application of AL to the teaching of Brazilian Sign Language - Libras through a brief discussion about identity and culture as guides in the teaching and learning process of Sign Language - SL. AL in Brazil is increasing and its ramifications suggest exploring new ways, that is, there are a number of methods that appear through the need to elaborate methods of analysis, in this work will be explored the analytical procedures developed by Systemic- functional linguistics, a propose initially elaborated by Halliday, and that explores the metafunctional character of the language. Nonetheless, we will work committed to initially establish methods that allow the researcher to identify the issues generated from the Assessment present in the constructions of statements expressed by individuals who work in the area of formation in Libras. https://www.revistas.ufg.br/lep/article/view/54460/26048Applied LinguisticsLibrasTeaching-Learning
