Summary:Tumultus sermonis (TS), cluttering, is a highly specific phenomenon in the field of speech fluency disorders. The development of knowledge in this area is characterised by long-standing difficulties in determining the adequate terminology, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. The knowledge of TS is also extremely inspirational in the acquisition of a deeper understanding of the process of speech communication and its disorders. The paper presents the current state of knowledge of this communication disorder from the perspective of Clinical Speech Therapy and the perspective of clinical assessment and therapy for people with TS.
