Summary:An increase in serum potassium levels is followed by progressively severe electrophysiological derangements in cardiac impulse generation and conduction, which are reflected in the electrocardiogram (ECG). Severe hyperkalemia with minimal or nonspecific ECG changes is unusual. Here we report a 69-year-old female who presented to our emergency department with hyperkalemia and was found to have no significant ECG changes.
