Pre-Eurasian motives in the sociology of N.Ya. Danilevsky

Background. The ideological heritage of the classical Eurasians of the 20–30ss of the 21st century has not lost its relevance, therefore, it is important to identify the ideological and theoretical sources of teaching. One of such sources is the sociological and philosophical- historical views of N.Ya. Danilevsky. The purpose of the research is to identify the main lines of communication between the ideas of the Russian thinker of the second half of the 19th century and classical Eurasianism based on the analysis of the works of N.Ya. Danilevsky and participants of the Eurasian movement. Materials and methods. Research tasks were solved on the basis of an analysis of the N.Ya. Danilevsky’s works and representatives of the Eurasian movement. The methodological toolkit includes methods of historical and sociological analysis, which allow to study the works of N.Ya. Danilevsky and the founders of Eurasianism and interpret their ideas in order to identify connections between the ideas of N.Ya. Danilevsky and participants in the Eurasian movement. Results. The theory of cultural and historical types of N.Ya. Danilevsky, his interpretation of the relationship between Russian-Slavic and European cultures has been studied. We analyzed the range of sources of classical Eurasianism that reveal ideas about Russia as a single, special civilization, dating back to Russian sociological thought in the second half of the 19th century. Conclusions. The sociological and philosophical-historical views of N.Ya. Danilevsky, in particular his theory of cultural-historical types, became one of the sources of the ideological and theoretical positions of the classical Eurasians, which in modern research literature is characterized as pre-Eurasianism.
