Description
Summary:Nursing information systems brings together the nursing and informations systems disciplines. It is considered to be a fundamental skill for health professionals in general and for nurses in particular in the XXI century. Its function is to interpret data into information, and in turn, to interpret information into knowledge. Knowledge is then coupled with experience that leads to wisdom. The essence of nursing is to care for people, which requires for nurses to think critically, to be skillfull in using technologies without dehumanizing care. All of these skills should be acquired in the process of undergraduate training in nursing schools.
