Description
Summary:The exports of forest products have played a very important role in the industrialization of Finland and Eastern Canada. In the case of Finland, this role has been even primordial. These exports are still the most important export item in both countries. The forest industries have exerted a profound impact on regional development, among others. In general, the development impact has been, however, quite different in each case. This study aims at finding out main reasons for this difference from a historical development perspective.
