Summary:This article presents the specificity of Sociology in high school and college. As a social science, Sociology tries to teach science, highlighting its scientific character, but also teaches content and methodology, offering to pupils and students accustomed with common sense, a policy- and ideology-based perspective over reality, through the mass-media. For the sociology teacher, anchored in the reality of social life, his mission is to find both the methods, techniques and didactical projecting procedures, teaching procedures, and evaluating the abilities gained for better understanding and interpreting of the social life and reducing the dissonance between what it is and what it should be.
