The interest of international capital to open the Amazon to exploration, as well as the precedents of the aggressive actions of the capitalist nations over Asia, Africa and Central America, generated a climate of extreme distrust on the part of Brazilians, justified by the draft of protocol between the governments of Bolivia and the United States, which motivated the Galvez action and, later, because of the case of the Bolivian Syndicate, the Acreana revolution. Within this historical context and the colonialist mentality of the central countries try to understand better the origin of this city. Keywords: Porto Velho, Amazonia, Rondônia, Acre, War of Acre, Technical Railroad, First Cycle of Rubber, Territorial Dispute, Treaty of Petrópolis, Rubra, Bolivian Syndicate. It is intended in this work to explain the practices and decisions of the railroad administration based on the concept of imperialism. From this concept, it will be possible, using the support of the empirical argument, to highlight the fact that many of the decisions taken by the company that built the Madeira-Mamoré railway did not have the exclusively technical-administrative character attributed by the current historiography, but were informed by certain prevailing political and ideological conceptions at the time, whose whole is part of the concept now used.https://periodicos.ufpe.br/revistas/revistaclio/article/view/24794
