Summary:<p class="x-----------" xml:lang="en-US">We conducted a study of quality of life and self-rated health of migrants working in the north of Siberia.</p><p class="x-----------" xml:lang="en-US"><span class="char-style-override-1">Purpose. </span>The main objective of the study was to analyze the attitude to health and the allocation of social factors that shape the north migrants’ quality of life.</p><p class="x-----------" xml:lang="en-US"><span class="char-style-override-1">Methodology.</span> A random sample of the northern region population was surveyed, including 108 men and 113 women, aged 20-59 years. Social and psychological aspects of the analysis included satisfaction with life in general, satisfaction with living conditions and needs.</p><p class="x-----------" xml:lang="en-US"><span class="char-style-override-1">Results.</span> Gender differences were obtained, indicating that the self-reported health quality among women is higher than among men. Individuals with higher education show the lowest self-reported health. The analysis of the social status and quality of life (on the example of north migrants) was conducted. According to the study, we identified factors that contribute to migrants’ quality of life: education, occupation, marital status, age. On the basis of that we isolated social groups the least satisfied with life in general, these are – young women; persons without higher education; persons engaged in physical labor. It was investigated the quality of life of northerners. The most positively they characterize the satisfaction of their needs in the field of communication and family relationships. Low values were obtained on the scales of rest, material well-being and life prospects.</p><p class="x-----------" xml:lang="en-US"><span class="char-style-override-1">The scope of results:</span> researches within the field of social psychology; justification of preventive measures in improving the Northern regions’ population health and improvement the quality of social services; planning measures in improving the quality of life of working-age population in enterprises of oil and gas complex.</p>
