USAGE OF NATURAL DYE BY DO IT YOURSELF PRODUCT DESIGN AND REPURPOSEN

The concept of repurpose which means creating a new or second life for a product by applying some transformations to an existing product has emerged during periods when the population suffered products or materials during the war periods. When the processes of repurpose are considered it appears that they have similar characteristics to those of do -it yourself products, especially at application stages. Do-it-yourself product designs include different area from home decor to textiles, gardening to children's activities. While do-it- yourself product designs through textile materials offer ideas in a wide area, natural dyes do-it-yourself kits, which started about 15 years ago, have become very popular nowadays, and people have started to incorporate natural dyes into their homes even for hobby purposes. In the direction of this information, it is the main purpose of this work to include people in the process of design, production and use, to introduce natural dyes into everyday practices and to give them ideas with repurpose evaluate not only the products which offered to the buyer but also existing products in their hands. For this purpose, natural dyes do-ityourself kits have designed for subject of study has natural dye plant, a piece of tulle for filtration, instruction manual for the dyeing process and information on the materials to be used in the process and a women's blouse which designed for primary and secondary usage purposes from a 100% cotton fabric that mordanted with alum. It is planned that the blouse which can be dyed directly or tie-dye methods according to the user's request, will be turned into a bag afterwards and used for a new purpose.
