Summary: | This article proposes methodological considerations regarding mixed methods research design, which articulate qualitative – quantitative approaches aiming at the consolidation of analysis. This study integrates ethnographic methodologies with a network model that addresses knowledge transmission of textile production. The case of study presented is a comparative analysis of two indigenous communities in Argentina. Social Network Analysis (SNA) model is built from the mapping of community members which are linked by knowledge experiences, aiming at analyse 1) centrality indexes and their distribution, 2) generation and domestic units regarding out-degree index, 3) sub-groups, cut points and bridges. Joined interpretation of data and its visualization, articulate different levels identified within the knowledge transmission within a community through time. This model opens new approaches about the articulation of SNA metrics results and the advance of knowledge transmission circuits’ research, considering graph structural features and the dynamic relation between different levels of analysis. |
