Description
Summary:Unlike the press agency information flow, the figure of special correspondent appears to be the preferred way for the media to study in depth the problems of countries in conflict. The analysis of the articles by French journalists (Le Monde and Libération) shows the inclusion of subjectivity in their discourses, an expressive dimension which is a result of direct contact with Colombian realities which are difficult to understand. Our motivation to analyze the way Colombia is described in the French press is to try to understand how special correspondents use their own experiences on the spot, in order to provide an easier to comprehend view of what seems to be "the Colombian problem". From this point of view we propose to examine some writing strategies which are used to compose a normative narrative inside of which the knowledge, the information, but especially the emotional experience, take form in a synthesis of the event and personal experience with "the other".
