Description
Summary:This article explores the fundamental workings carried out by Hispamérica in its long history around Cuban literature. From reflecting on the ‘in-between’ space of the journal’s enunciation and borderline character, it focuses on interrogating that feature and on how a Southern Cone perspective intervenes in its decision making. The link with Cuban literature will be mediated by the director's closeness to Casa de las Américas and his interest in the works of Julio Cortázar. Finally, this text addresses the critical studies of the Cuban writer with the greatest presence in its pages: Virgilio Piñera.
