Description
Summary:
This work aims at demonstrating the relevance of adopting the concept of frame as an organizing notion of an online dictionary. The theoretical foundation is based on the assumptions of the theory proposed by the linguist Charles Fillmore, the Frame Semantics, as well as on the theoretical reference of the Electronic Lexicography. The results reveal the potential of the frame concept to function as an organizational principle of an online dictionary, since the notion leads to the inclusion of a considerable number of digital elements that play a central role in the description of the lexical meaning. From this, it was concluded that the notion of frame offers guidelines and procedures for obtaining high levels of online digital identity.

Keywords: frame semantics, online dictionary, online digital identity, electronic lexicography.
