Summary:This article recognizes that it is intrisically difficult to teach values. However, the article underlines that this mission should not be left behind, because quality education must not be only based upon knowledge transfer, but should also be based upon training oriented to provide individuals with tools to face new daily-life challenges. Teachers must become mediators and mentors that offer the type of counselling that allows individuals to find out by themshelves their reference values, and to develop those key skills that will allow them to manage at school and in life. Mediated learning will allow individuals to improve throughout their development and will also allow them to constantly upgrade their learning potential.
