Summary: | The paper is dedicated to methodology for development of weather monitoring firmware and its algorithmic support for implementation in active house systems. The high relevance of the studied subject area is explained by the steady trend for information collection and analysis processes automation for the purpose of optimizing solutions of multiple tasks and processes, also taking into account the depletion of non-renewable energy resources. The substance of the research is development of principles for building tools for collection and initial analysis of information based upon smart house technologies and the Internet of Things in order to develop wireless weather monitoring modules for use in the active house system. The paper analyses existing comparable systems, their advantages and disadvantages, and based the analysis the key requirements to the firmware have been defined. Appropriate algorithms have been proposed and schematic diagrams and operation control programs have been developed to secure high performance parameters for reliability and energy consumption and to make the system qualitatively different from comparable systems. Quantitative computations of reliability, power consumption, microcontroller useful life and autonomous operation time for the weather station external module have been performed. The paper is featured by a new solution developed for the structure and by the algorithmic support of the weather monitoring system based upon the smart home and Internet of Things advanced technologies creating the necessary conditions for further development of such systems. |
