Summary: | This report present major topics and debates of the symposium "30 years of HIV science. Imagine the future". It was organized by the Pasteur Institute, the U.S. National Institutes of Health, Agence Nationale de Recherche sur le Sida (ANRS) and SIDACTION in celebration of the 30th years since the identification of the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) as causative agent of the acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). Held in Paris, France, it was sponsored by the Pasteur Institute in Paris on May 21-23, 2013. The novel results presented and fruitful discussions at the meeting provided a glance on the goals for HIV research in the near future.
